Tournament Rules
1. FORMAT
Double-elimination tournament. Winner takes all in the Championship Game — no second game. Winner of Losers Bracket plays Winner of Winners Bracket. One game for cash prize.
2. ROSTER
Each team can have a maximum of ten (10) players and only one (1) coach.
3. TEAM ROSTER SHEET
The team roster sheet must be filled out prior to game time. Failure to do so will result in a delay of game technical foul will be assessed. A player can only play for one team — if found otherwise, the result will be a forfeit.
4. TECHNICAL FOULS
Any player or coach using excessive language or behavior deemed inappropriate by officials will receive an automatic technical foul and must pay $25 and sit out for three (3) minutes to continue playing or coaching. Any player or coach who throws a punch or engages in any type of fighting will be automatically ejected from the game and the entire tournament.
5. GAME LENGTH
Each Winners Bracket game will consist of two (2) 20-minute halves with a running clock. Each Losers Bracket game will consist of two (2) 15-minute halves.
a. Clock stops the last minute of each half after every made basket.
b. Each team has three (3) minutes to warm up. A grace period may apply — if a team is not on the court to start the game, a technical foul will be assessed. If both teams are tardy, the clock will start.
6. INTERMISSION
One (1) minute between halves.
7. OVERTIME
First overtime: 3 minutes. Second overtime: 2 minutes. Third overtime: 1 minute. Any additional overtimes will be 1 minute.
8. PERSONAL FOULS
Each player is allowed six (6) personal fouls. Technical fouls count as personal fouls.
9. TEAM FOULS
Penalty free throws will be shot on the 5th team foul or the 2nd team foul in the last two (2) minutes of a half, whichever comes first.
10. TIMEOUTS
Each team receives two (2) 30-second timeouts per half. Timeouts do not carry over into overtime.
11. ADVANCE RULE
After calling a timeout, a team has the option to advance the ball following a made basket or free throw during the final minute of the 2nd half and overtime only.
12. ZONE DEFENSE
No zone defenses are allowed. Zone defense will result in a technical foul for illegal defense. Man-to-man defense must be played at all times.
13. JUMP BALL
There is no alternating possession. Each tie-up results in a jump ball between the two players involved.
